GET TO KNOW J.R. EVANS
Our Story
J.R. Evans was founded in late 2016 by Jonny & Angela Evans. Jonny always had a love of the outdoors and gardening and wanted to pursue work in an area that he was passionate about. In a previous life Jonny had been an award-winning chef, however, this often meant working away from home. Both he and Angela wanted to develop a long-standing business idea that would allow Jonny to be closer to home and pursue his passion.
In a very short space of time, the business grew from offering general garden maintenance in the Pitlochry and Aberfeldy area to offering garden design and landscaping services in Perth, Stirling and Edinburgh. As the demand from customers grew so did the team of gardeners.
Michael joined J.R. Evans in 2017 and has several years of experience in groundwork. With that knowledge, J.R. Evans was able to expand the range of services they offer. Michael has previously carried out paving, decking, mono-blocking, stone and brick building, natural stone building and restoration and pillar construction.
Nick joined the team in early 2018. Nick is a young local lad with previous gardening experience. He now oversees J.R. Evans regular garden maintenance customers, ensuring beautifully manicured lawns, weed-free borders and beds and perfectly pruned flowers and plants. Having Nick on board has allowed for Jonny's diary to open up which means he has a higher turnaround of jobs, so you get your dream garden much quicker!
J.R. Evans is also adding a further string to its bow and is currently developing a poly tunnel on the farm which will allow them to grow and sell vegetables and fruit to the local area. The polytunnel is now fully constructed and produce should be available for sale in late summer. All produce will be available to purchase directly from the online shop.
In the recent months, J.R. Evans have also developed 3 depots, their offices and poly tunnel are situated in Grandtully, near Aberfeldy, and the other 2 are located in Errol and Forfar. This has allowed J.R. Evans to offer services in a much wider area.
