Business update

The summer months are finally here and we are delighted that the weather has been so good. Nothing makes a gardener happier than getting to work in the sunshine, well that's not entirely true. Nothing makes a gardener happier than having lots of gardens to work in, luckily that hasn't been a problem over the last few months. We have been very busy working on a range of different projects. We are continuing to see a high demand from Gillies and Mackay customer that require bases for their sensational summer house. We really love working with Gillies and Mackay and thoroughly appreciate the quality of their workmanship. It's been great working with and getting to know some of their customers too. Once the main base work has been completed for the summer house, we are finding that lots of customers are requiring other gardening work. We have returned to several to lay patios, erect fencing and complete general gardening maintenance. The picture below is of Mr Coburn's sandstone patio. We completed this project for him in May. We laid the summer house base for him in April and returned to complete the patio after the summer house arrived. It's one of our favourite projects so far, I personally love how the colours of the patio blend with the wood of the summer house.

Our garden maintenance service has proven to be very popular over the summer months too. So much so that we have employed another full-time gardener. Nick joined us in May, he is a local lad with the previous experience, he is extremely focused and hard-working and has been doing a great job thus far. Along with lots of adhoc work such as grass cutting, turfing, and weeding, we have filled up our spaces for regular garden maintenance very quickly over the last few months. We currently have two full-day spaces available for ongoing maintenance; if you think you might need a hand keeping your garden looking lovely over the summer months, get in touch before our last remaining spaces go.

The team have been working very hard in the polytunnel over the last few months also. It's great to see the progress of the veggies and plants. The extra sunshine has a been a great help at pushing everything along. We can't wait until the veggies are ready to harvest so we can get our veggie box out to you. We expect most items to be available in the early autumn. All of our lovely hanging baskets were sold to our gardening customers before we got a chance to advertise them. We were delighted to have been contacted by the Flame Tree Cafe in Dundee when they opened their new cafe. They required some of our lovely baskets to spruce up the front of their new venture which opened in May on Perth road. We would highly recommend that you pay them a visit to try some of their delicious food offering (or just to check out our lovely baskets).
